Britney (2001)

On her third studio album, Britney Spears moves between the clipped rhythms of I'm a Slave 4 U and the pressure described in Overprotected. The tension between confidence and uncertainty gives the record its interest. The original 2001 album is the selection here; the anniversary reissue offers an additional route into that period.
