2026 United States elections

Donald Trump's Republican Party has lost the projected majorities in both the House and Senate. The incoming Congress will therefore place both chambers under the opposition, while the president remains in office. This is a change in congressional control, not a presidential election; final seat totals and certification are still outstanding.
