EYE Institut Filmmuseum

Amsterdam's Eye Filmmuseum uses its permanent What Is Film? exhibition to connect cinema with the optical devices and experiments that preceded it. The chance to explore animation and moving-image tricks makes this a particularly approachable stop for curious visitors. Temporary exhibitions offer another route in, with their own changing emphasis.
