Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

The flight and fighting are exhilarating, but the characters' different relationships to duty give the movement its emotional charge. A rooftop or bamboo forest becomes a place where desire and restraint can be expressed physically. See it for the pleasure of action that is also romantic, mournful and beautifully shaped.
