No Country for Old Men (2007)
Movie
Released
A crime thriller gradually unsettles the reassuring idea that violence can be understood or contained by a capable observer. Silence and the exact placement of bodies make the suspense extraordinarily immediate. Its refusal to supply comfortable release is part of the reason to see it, not simply a puzzle to solve afterwards.
