Columbus (2017)
Movie
Released
Columbus, Indiana, gives two people a vocabulary for obligations they find harder to discuss directly. Kogonada uses modernist buildings, setbacks and carefully held distances to make looking an active form of conversation. John Cho and Haley Lu Richardson keep the architectural attention attached to family and work. The quiet pace suits viewers who want a place to change how a scene can be spoken.
