The exchanges are so flatly courteous that personal questions can sound like routine small talk until their implications register. A surgeon's uneasy relationship with a teenager spreads into an impeccably ordered household. Yorgos Lanthimos makes professional standing and domestic composure feel like fragile performances. Choose it for the controlled, unnatural conversational rhythm through which something deeply threatening starts to sound almost procedural.
