The most surprising chemistry here includes the ex-girlfriend's parents. Kumail's time with them during Emily's serious illness turns a courtship comedy into a story about responsibility, family expectations and learning to stop dodging difficult truths. Holly Hunter and Ray Romano keep those hospital conversations funny without pretending the stakes are light. Choose it for relationships that have to function beyond a date.
