Blade II (2002)

Blade's nightclub entrance is a formidable benchmark. Blade II wins this particular argument through the uneasy team it makes him lead: his vampire allies are trained to kill him, so cooperation never settles into comfort. Guillermo del Toro gives the Reapers a grotesque physical identity that changes how the fights work. The plot is less elegant and some digital movement shows its age, but the creature horror gives this sequel its own appetite.
