Shrek 2 (2004)
Movie

Shrek's fairy-tale inversion becomes more interesting once Fiona has to bring her chosen life home. Meeting the in-laws gives the jokes an emotional target, while Fairy Godmother embodies the pressure to look like the correct romantic ending. Puss brings a welcome new comic rhythm without replacing the central couple. The finale's interlocking rescues and musical timing make this feel more fully orchestrated than another batch of spoof references.

About Shrek 2
Happily ever after never seemed so far far away when a trip to meet the in-laws turns into a hilariously twisted adventure for Shrek and Fiona. With the help of ever-faithful Donkey, Shrek takes on the potion-brewing Fairy Godmother, pompous Prince Charming, and infamous ogre-killer Puss In Boots.
