In an infertile future Britain, protecting one vulnerable woman becomes a test of whether anyone can still act with care. The crowded streets and sustained passages of danger keep the political collapse close to individual bodies. This is violent, distressing viewing, with hope appearing as practical help offered while almost everything encourages indifference.
