Advantageous (2015)
Movie
Released
A mother considering a radical procedure to secure her daughter's prospects makes technological progress look very different from a launch-day promise. Jennifer Phang ties questions of identity to employment, appearance and the price of education. The restrained performances are the point of entry: this future hurts because the pressure to make yourself acceptable for someone else's sake feels familiar.
