Best Bollywood Movies of the 2020s So Far

A considered selection of Hindi cinema from the unfinished 2020s, with recent work assessed provisionally. These choices favour performances, distinctive settings and stories that do more than deliver a topical premise. Start with Laapataa Ladies for generous social comedy, Sardar Udham for patient historical drama or Monica, O My Darling for a darker comic thriller. Festival premieres determine eligibility when they precede commercial release. Recent 2026 work has been checked alongside earlier films, with Ikkis included for its unusual approach to a war story rather than its newness alone.
