Somebody Somewhere (2022)

Sam's return to Kansas in her forties carries grief and the sense that a different life was supposed to have happened elsewhere. Somebody Somewhere lets singing and friendship create possibilities gradually. Family obligations do not disappear, and she does not have to become tidier or more conventionally successful to deserve good company. Small invitations do more work than a triumphant announcement.
