Red Rock West (1993)

A vast Wyoming horizon does not help a penniless drifter once a local mistakes him for a hired killer. The town's bright, matter-of-fact spaces make the murderous proposition seem horribly businesslike. Nicolas Cage's attempts to do the decent thing keep tightening the trap, while Dennis Hopper supplies a less negotiable kind of danger. A lively entry point into rural noir, where a place you could drive through in minutes becomes unexpectedly difficult to leave.

About Red Rock West
When a promised job for Texan Michael fails to materialize in Wyoming, Mike is mistaken by Wayne to be the hitman he hired to kill his unfaithful wife, Suzanne. Mike takes full advantage of the situation, collects the money, and runs. During his getaway, things go wrong, and soon get worse when he runs into the real hitman, Lyle.
