Inferno (1953)
Movie
Released
A millionaire with a broken leg is left in the Mojave by his wife and her lover, turning a familiar adulterous noir plot into a survival ordeal. Technicolor vistas make every inch of rock and empty distance both beautiful and obstructive. Robert Ryan's furious practicality gives you someone compelling to follow without pretending he was an innocent saint before the betrayal. Originally made in 3D, it also works in 2D: the landscape's moral and physical exposure remains the draw.
