The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)

Clinical corridors and unnaturally flat conversations make a surgeon's comfortable life feel wrong before the threat to his family is fully expressed. The dread grows from the calm delivery of an intolerable proposition, with no reassuring explanation to place it at a safe distance. There are sudden violent images, including medical imagery at the opening. Its icy humour is deliberate; choose it if moral discomfort and an impossible choice scare you more than a lurking creature.
