The Blair Witch Project (1999)

Daylight arguments about the route gradually become as frightening as the noises outside the tent. With three student filmmakers lost in woodland, the camera's inability to show enough is the point: every hurried turn risks losing the only view you have. Its restraint about revealing a threat makes the night sounds work on the imagination. The rough, shaking footage can be wearing if motion sickness usually spoils found-footage films for you.
