Family interviews and repeated examination of photographs turn grief into an uneasy habit of looking again. This Australian mock-documentary rarely behaves like a conventional haunting, and its still images let anxiety gather in a corner of the frame. It also contains one very potent sudden scare, so it would be misleading to sell it as startle-free. The emotional chill lasts because each apparent piece of evidence changes how a bereaved family remembers a person.
