Pre-2000 TV That Still Feels Sharp Today

Older television should offer a good evening before it asks for respect. These British, American and European choices have vivid people, clever construction or social observation that still lands without broadcast nostalgia. Every series began before 2000; some continued afterwards, and the notes identify the original version or early run worth starting with. Try The Day Today for a compact experiment, My So-Called Life for immediate feeling or The Larry Sanders Show for workplace embarrassment. Longer, slower discoveries sit beside them, with dated assumptions and practical viewing commitments named plainly.
