A hotel corridor physically rotates around Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the stunt performers, so a routine grapple becomes a fight for somewhere to put a foot. The mechanical set, lighting and camera design let bodies and gravity explain the dream rule together. Other weightless material uses wires, and the wider film combines practical work with digital imagery. This is the choice for action in which the environment changes the choreography rather than merely decorating it.
