Police Story (1985)
Movie
Released
A bus, an umbrella and a shopping centre become tools in Jackie Chan's increasingly desperate police chase. His mall pole-slide is the headline, but the surrounding falls, catches and prop exchanges make it part of a sustained comic argument with gravity. Chan and his stunt team's timing rewards watching the whole frame. The end-credit outtakes expose some of the work and its physical cost; this is exuberant action with real bruising edges.
