Watch the pole riders sway between moving vehicles: their changing distance from the War Rig gives this desert escape a visible, physical geography. Guy Norris's action team used elaborate rigs and safety lines to stage the vehicle work, with visual effects finishing and extending the world around it. The pleasure is how clearly George Miller lets you read a transfer, a near miss and its consequence, even inside the apparent chaos.
