Yuen Wo-ping's wire-assisted choreography gives Neo's training and fights a visible grammar: balance, resistance, then the possibility of breaking a rule. The actors' preparation lets the camera stay with much of the movement, while doubles, rigs and digital effects extend what the bodies can do. The dojo is especially rewarding because it turns an explanation of the world into a contest of timing. Practical assistance is part of the invention here.
