The hovercraft chase gives Chan an opponent too large and ungainly to fight conventionally. His jump onto it is a real stunt, and the outtakes record the injury involved, giving the comic spectacle a sobering physical footnote. Stanley Tong also gets plenty from shops, alleys and improvised objects before that climax. The story and dubbing can be ungainly, but the inventive contact between body and environment makes an accessible Chan introduction.
