The Departed (2006)

Infernal Affairs (2002) is the leaner duel between two infiltrators. Scorsese's Boston remake earns my preference through the mess around that clean idea: supervisors, colleagues and lovers make maintaining an identity feel exhausting. DiCaprio's visible strain against Damon's polished ease gives the parallel lives different textures. The greater length and abrasive humour are a trade-off, but they turn the crime puzzle into a whole institution of compromised people.
