Ernest & Celestine (2012)
Movie

79 minutes. A bear and a mouse discover that their societies' rules make far less sense than their friendship. The loose, watercolour-like animation keeps the chase scenes buoyant, but the real pleasure is watching two outsiders build a workable life together. A concise alternative to noisier family animation, with warmth that comes through practical acts of companionship.
