Flight (2012)
Movie
Released
Denzel Washington makes Whip Whitaker's charm part of his problem: the same composure that earns trust also helps him evade an honest answer. Small changes between public assurance and private unease keep the addiction drama alive when its moral machinery becomes heavy. The extraordinary flight sequence and Don Cheadle's restrained lawyer matter too; Washington supplies the difficult person who connects those different films.
