Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)
Movie
Released
Kiki's move to a new city turns a magical skill into paid work, complete with awkward customers, loneliness and the fear that doing something for a living may change your relationship with it. That is a revealing adult lens on the young witch's faltering confidence. The film offers company and small acts of practical kindness rather than a quick motivational cure. Its quiet stretches are part of the reward.
