Door Lock (2018)
by movie_expert  •
Door Lock
Movie
6.4/10on IMDb
Released
A bank employee living alone notices signs that somebody may have entered her studio flat. Door Lock makes the small acts intended to establish safety, checking a lock or interpreting a noise, feel laborious when reassurance never quite holds. Kong Hyo-jin grounds the threat in tired, ordinary routines. Choose it for direct, invasive suspense about control over a private room, with the warning that stalking and intrusion are the substance of the film rather than a light mystery to solve.

Sleep (2023)

Sleep
Movie
6.5/10on IMDb
Released
A newly married couple's flat becomes a place where one partner cannot safely stop watching the other. Jung Yu-mi and Lee Sun-kyun make sleepwalking unsettling through the difference between what the wife witnesses and what her husband can remember. A baby raises the stakes without enlarging the setting. Sleep is especially good if you want domestic rhythms to become strange by degrees, with dark humour and competing explanations that make certainty difficult. Avoid learning how it resolves before watching.

Hide and Seek (2013)
by movie_expert  •
Hide and Seek
Movie
6.3/10on IMDb
Released
Searching for his missing brother draws a comfortably settled family man into an older apartment complex with guarded residents and puzzling marks beside doors. Hide and Seek gets its particular tension from competing assumptions about who belongs inside a home. The passage between unfamiliar flats and the protagonist's own domestic security makes that question uncomfortable. Its escalating, sometimes extravagant home-invasion mechanics favour a full-throttle thriller over strict plausibility; the door markings are a fictional menace, not useful real-world evidence.

The Witness (2018)
by movie_expert  •
The Witness
Movie
6.5/10on IMDb
Released
A salaryman sees a killing from his living-room window, and the killer notices the witness above him. That simple exchange turns the apartment complex into a map of possible exposure. Lee Sung-min gives hesitation a painfully recognisable texture: every attempt to preserve ordinary life makes the next choice harder. The Witness is the pick for suspense about collective silence, where proximity supplies neither solidarity nor safety. It is grim and violent, with social pressure doing as much work as pursuit.

The Neighbors (2012)
by movie_expert  •
The Neighbors
Movie
6.5/10on IMDb
Released
A suspected serial killer lives among people whose small observations could mean much more if anyone joined them together. The Neighbors builds an ensemble around that failure of connection, rather than handing the building to one brilliant investigator. Its different residents offer different reasons to watch, doubt and finally act. Choose this for a wider view of communal responsibility than Door Lock's solitary fear. The murder of a teenager and the grief around it give the thriller a particularly distressing weight.

Concrete Utopia (2023)

Concrete Utopia
Movie
6.6/10on IMDb
Released
After an earthquake, one apartment building remains standing amid the devastation of Seoul. Sheltering people immediately becomes a dispute about membership, ownership and the authority to make rules. Concrete Utopia earns its place through residents' meetings and improvised governance as much as through its ruined skyline. Lee Byung-hun gives the emerging leadership a disturbing force. This is the disaster-thriller departure in the selection, best for viewers interested in how communal survival can turn into exclusion under extreme pressure.

Apt (2006)
by movie_expert  •
Apt
Movie
5.6/10on IMDb
Released
Across a courtyard, a woman notices lights going out at a particular time and starts connecting what she sees with deaths in the opposite block. A.P.T., also released as Apartment, makes facing windows a deceptively inadequate form of access: you can observe a routine without understanding a life. Ahn Byung-ki leans into supernatural horror and jolting scares, so choose it for an openly haunted version of neighbourly suspicion. The geometry of watching another building gives the ghost-story machinery its useful foothold.

Noise (2025)

Noise
Movie
6.7/10on TMDB
Released
Kim Soo-jin's Noise follows a woman with a hearing impairment whose younger sister has disappeared from their apartment. Strange sounds and hostile encounters make investigating the building both an urgent search and an uncertain sensory experience. Lee Sun-bin gives that investigation a human centre. This 2025 Korean theatrical release belongs at the supernatural end of the list: sound design and the fear of what a neighbour might conceal take precedence over a neatly procedural missing-person case. Do not confuse it with other films sharing the title.
