Speed Racer (2008)
Movie
Released
The racetrack behaves like a moving comic strip, with faces, memories and coloured space colliding around the cars. The Wachowskis make its family loyalty as unabashedly artificial as its racing. The sensory overload that divided reviewers is the reason to try it on a large screen, provided that sincerity and visual excess sound more inviting than naturalism.
