Joe Pesci's outsider has to translate streetwise confidence into the exact demands of a courtroom, which makes his stumbles useful rather than merely humiliating. Marisa Tomei brings a different kind of practical knowledge into the room. Their timing turns legal questions into character comedy. A lighter route through the list, with the jokes best discovered through the actors' delivery.
