Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001)
Movie
Released
A band's barroom performances become the way Hedwig takes control of a story others keep taking from her. Glam-rock swagger, animated interludes and bruised humour make the songs feel like arguments about identity and belonging. Explicit adult material and cruelty keep it far from a conventional crowd-pleaser.
