I Saw the Devil (2010)
Movie

Choi Min-sik gives Kyung-chul a blunt, opportunistic physical presence, making the revenge pursuit feel contaminated by its target. I Saw the Devil keeps asking what happens when the pursuer turns repeated punishment into his own method. The antagonist belongs here for the nasty immediacy of his behaviour, not for an elegant criminal plan. This is the most punishing choice in an already severe selection, with graphic gore and sexual violence that rule out a casual thriller evening.
