Training Day (2001)
Movie
Released
Alonzo Harris can make an order sound like a favour and a warning sound like professional advice. Denzel Washington keeps that charm moving so quickly that the rookie officer, and the viewer, have to work to keep up with its demands. Training Day is the pick for power exercised through a supposed mentor's approval. The attraction is watching the pressure change shape, while the film keeps the damage of corrupt policing visible.
