Collateral (2004)

Tom Cruise gives hired killer Vincent the composure of a man treating somebody else's nightmare as an efficient night's work. Jamie Foxx's cab driver has to keep responding to that calm while recognising what it conceals. Collateral makes the shifting power inside a car absorbing, with Los Angeles at night supplying both beauty and isolation. Choose it for a villain whose conversational confidence is as threatening as his physical competence.
