Kafka (1991)
Movie

Steven Soderbergh uses the writer's name and a bureaucratic workplace as the doorway to an invented conspiracy, rather than offering a reliable biography. The shift from office routine into a more fantastic mystery makes it an accessible companion to the stricter adaptations. Watch the original feature knowing that its later reworking, Mr. Kneff, is a different version.
