The Castle (1997)
Movie
Released
A land surveyor tries to clarify his position with local authorities and discovers that access to an answer can always be deferred. Michael Haneke keeps the frustration matter-of-fact, which makes the unfinished quality of the story part of its force. It is austere and deliberately unsatisfying if you are hoping for a final explanation.
