Skyfall (2012)

Javier Bardem's Silva arrives in Skyfall as though he has already decided the pace at which everybody else will listen. His easy conversational delivery keeps exposing the hurt beneath his elaborate control. Daniel Craig's Bond remains compellingly bruised; Silva is more disconcerting because grievance can become charm and then menace without a visible gear change. His fixation on M also makes the central contest larger than two men measuring their competence.
