Strikers with Exceptional Off-the-Ball Movement

The finish is often the last part of the skill. These forwards create openings by losing a marker, choosing the right moment to accelerate, dropping away from the defence or making room for a teammate. The selection favours movement that changes an attack over scoring totals alone. It includes penalty-area specialists, second strikers and forwards who also worked from wider starting positions; those different jobs are part of the comparison. Specific matches and players' or coaches' explanations give you something to look for when watching them again. Follow the striker while somebody else has the ball, especially after a pass, a cross or a teammate's shot. An apparently quiet player may be making repeated decisions that determine where the next chance can happen. The order is a viewing guide across eras and playing styles, not a statistical ranking.
