The junior employees of a London investment bank have to sell confidence before they possess much security. Every apparently friendly conversation can change a colleague's value or expose a weakness. It offers Succession's appetite for advantage from a less protected starting position, with explicit sex, substance use and a relentless professional tempo. Later seasons widen the arena without making relationships any less transactional.
