The Thick of It (2005)

A government department spends much of its time trying to survive the consequences of what somebody has just said. Peter Capaldi's Malcolm Tucker turns the arrival of a phone call into a workplace emergency. There is no wealthy family here; the attraction is the same humiliating gap between public confidence and private desperation. Expect fast British political comedy and very elaborate swearing.
