Terminator Salvation (2009)
Movie
Released
Look for the 2009 US campaign trailer built around Nine Inch Nails' The Day the World Went Away, rather than the earlier teaser. The industrial pulse and battered future-war machinery give the images a forceful shared identity. The film's competing attention to John Connor, Marcus and rescue logistics is less cleanly shaped. The preview also gives away a major character revelation, making it an instructive case where the editing can impress even as the amount revealed invites argument.

About Terminator Salvation
All grown up in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor must lead the resistance of humans against the increasingly dominating militaristic robots. But when Marcus Wright appears, his existence confuses the mission as Connor tries to determine whether Wright has come from the future or the past -- and whether he's friend or foe.
