Godzilla (2014)
Movie
Released
The December 2013 US teaser follows a military descent into a city whose scale has become terrifyingly unreadable. Human bodies look very small before the creature fully registers. The feature carries that sense of magnitude into several excellent sequences, so this is a preference for the teaser's sustained dread rather than a dismissal of the film. Its brief human viewpoint asks less of the comparatively thin central soldier, keeping the whole experience at the edge of comprehension.
