Cast Away (2000)
Movie
Released
Tom Hanks makes failed attempts at fire and communication accumulate into a recognisable routine. The island section earns suspense by showing how slowly a person learns to use a place. Allow for a substantial life-before-and-after framework: the film cares about what survival does to time and attachment as much as how an escape works.
