Beasts of No Nation (2015)

Agu's forced entry into an armed group replaces childhood routines with a terrifying dependence on its commander. Abraham Attah gives the transformation confused survival instincts rather than simple ideological certainty. The unnamed civil-war setting comes from Uzodinma Iweala's novel; child recruitment and sexual violence are central, not background atmosphere.
