The Black Book (2023)

Richard Mofe-Damijo's bereaved deacon challenges a police network after his son is framed, giving the pursuit an immediately understandable personal purpose. Editi Effiong connects the present danger to a man whose own past complicates his claim to righteousness. Choose it for a forceful action-thriller route into contemporary Lagos, with corruption treated as an organised system rather than a problem one fair-minded officer can simply remove.
