Tamil, directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. Several disastrous days cross one another, allowing a family reunion, adolescent panic and questions of faith to share the same darkly comic world. The formal play is the invitation: an apparently stray detail may change another story's meaning. Save this long, sexually frank and violent choice for when you want something less reassuring than a simple gateway film.
