We Are Lady Parts (2021)

An anxious guitarist joins a Muslim women's punk band whose members have no intention of fitting one reassuring account of who they are. Nida Manzoor makes different personalities audible in the arguments as well as the songs. The connection to Derry Girls is a group that can be gloriously ridiculous without losing its place in a complicated social world. The fantasies and performances make the comedy particularly energetic.
