Chewing Gum (2015)

Tracey is twenty-four and determined to catch up on experiences her religious upbringing has made both irresistible and difficult to understand. Michaela Coel gives her London estate a close network of people with competing ideas about what she should do next. It is a much more sexually explicit companion to Derry Girls' collision of family rules and urgent private wishes. The physical comedy keeps the embarrassment exuberant rather than remotely polished.
